Al was busy almost full time queuing in folks of all ages for a turn at the simulator. The kids really liked trying out flying RC on the simulator. The two helicopters drew lots of attention. The complexity and precision of the helicopter construction was recognized by many folks. Al answered many inquiries as to the location of our flying field and the best times to observe RC aircraft in action. I am sure the displays and simulator piqued the interest of visiting kids and adults as well. James Thomas --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- I think Jim Thomas pretty much said it all. I lost track of how many people visited our display but we seemed continuously busy interacting with the public. Many members supported the display by providing model aircraft to show and talking with people about ERCA and what we’re all about. We passed out about 40 ERCA brochures on Saturday and another 50 on Sunday. We brought past issues of the AMA magazine and gave them to everyone who tried the Real Flight RC simulator. I think we sold a few simulators that weekend. I told the owners at Eugene Toy and Hobby the following week to prepare for a rush on them. I also gave them the brochures we had left over to give to their customers who might be interested in taking their curiosity to the next level. I think we did a lot toward giving The ERCA some good exposure. We were approached by the leader of the Civil Air patrol Cadet program, Don Cole, who wants to coordinate with us on getting some practical flight experience for the cadets. This is a potential gold mine of prospective members we should follow up on. Many thanks to all members who supported the display. Brad Werneth, Chuck O’Donnell, Jim Thomas, Wayne Wahrmund & Cindy, Robert Morris Jr., Marty Wittman, Khoi Tran, and others I’m sure. Apologies to those I forgot. I spoke with the coordinators from the Eugene Air Museum and expressed our appreciation to them for having us. They were genuinely pleased we were there and were glad to work with us. Now let’s plan for next year.
