Control wires and clevises
The only thing I recommend is checking the control wires and clevises. You may want to replace them with 2-56 american. other then that, build as required..   - Marty Wittman

Wing mounting bolts
The only reason you may want to change the wing bolts is . if you lost one of the original ones. they are hard to replace. They be metric!   - Marty Wittman

Pilot attachment for LA Racer
Glue and SCREW it to the cabin deck, glue alone may not hold it.   -  Craig Canaday

LA Racer Build  -  Jim Corbett
I took all the advice and help offered, it made the project much less frustrating.

Pilot - I used the double faced tape, it does not stick to the rubber pilot or the cabin deck very well, also added two screws from the bottom up AND tied him down to the cabin deck with dental floss (waxless dental floss and colored black with a felt pen, knots CAed).  Thanks Craig for the tip.

Motor mount and muffler bolts - Used loctite on them.

Wing bolts - I replaced the provided ones with 1/4" x 2" hex head black nylon bolts and blind nuts.

Aileron control wires - one of the supplied had usable threads, the other did NOT.  Replaced with my control wire and clevises.

Used Z-bend connections for elevator and rudder control wires where the hook to the servos.

Switch - I installed an EMS Heavy Duty switch harness with charging plug.

Fueler - I installed one of those pivot open and close types - don't remember the brand.

Landing gear - mounted wheels forward (tried wheels aft , would not taxi without full up elevator.

Cowling - Marty loaned me the template, it made that job a snap.... thanks Marty!

Glow Plug - The TT R3 was JUNK. after two flights the post wobbled around and the motor was hard to start.  Marty loaned me an O.S. #8. WOW what a difference!

CG - On advice from Wayne, I used a 6 volt rx pack (5-cell). Mounting that at the rear of the fuel tank, it balanced right on.

Control throws - factory recommended for 60% dual rate an a bit more on full rates.

Landing - I still do not have that smooth and bounceless, practice will get me there.

Canopy - I did not use the double sided tape, yes some fuel is getting under it.

AMA number on wing and fuse. Name and phone number on fuse as well.

Trimming - Elevator and Rudder are straight.  Left aileron was up about 1/8"  Found that the leading edge and trailing edge of the wing at the center were fine. At both wing tips the leading edges were fine but the trailing edge of the left wing was down about 2mm, heated the wing and twisted it, now I need aprox 0.5 mm of up aileron to fly level.  Will heat and twist a bit more some time soon.

Covering - some wrinkles have appeared after it has been out in the sunlight for awhile, will need to get the heating iron out and fix that.  Several places on the fuse where the wing attaches I have noticed the covering loosening up, will need the heat gun and some CA to fix that.

PROP - Pick one, adjust the motor to go fast and turn left.  If you do not get your landings bounce free, you will get to use a different prop soon.
